Terms & Conditions

​1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of:

  • The physical practice of Kloof Road Medical Centre (KRMC).

  • KRMC's website (www.krmc.co.za).

​2. Practice Terms & Conditions

2.1 Patient Consent and Responsibility

The undersigned gives the General Practitioner permission to treat him/her self or legal guard in his/her capacity as a General Practitioner. The undersigned accepts responsibility for the account and accepts that he/she is responsible for the associated fees as per the Board of Healthcare Funders of South Africa (BHF) structure.

 

2.2 Medical Aid and Payment

KRMC General Practitioners are contracted out of medical aids. Consultations are to be settled at the time of service (post consutation).

2.3 Fees/Rates - General Practitioners

  • Weekday Consultations: R740.00 (2024)

  • Saturday Consultations: R840.00 (2024).

  • Sunday Consultations: R995.00 (2024).

    • Fees exclude procedures, injections, and additional services.

  • Annual fee increase of 8% effective January 1st of each year.

2.4 Patient Responsibilities

  • Appointments canceled less than 2 hours prior to the consultation may be charged in full.

  • Telephone calls and emails exceeding 10 minutes will be charged.

  • Late arrival may shorten your consultation but will be charged in full.

  • Unpaid accounts exceeding 30 days may be subject to legal action (collection agency or small claims court) with associated costs.

2.5 Confidentiality

KRMC respects your privacy. However, confidentiality limits exist:

  • When you pose a risk to yourself or others.

  • When a child is at risk.

  • When a court order compels disclosure of information.

  • Billing and appointment information may be shared with external parties like receptionists, billing bureaus, and medical aids.

  • Phone calls to KRMC are not considered confidential and may be intercepted by the practice's receptionist.

2.6 Medical Aid Claims

​RMC may claim directly from your medical aid for unpaid accounts.

3. Website Terms of Use

3.1 Acceptance

​By accessing or using the KRMC website, you agree to these Terms of Use.

3.2 Content Ownership

​Website content (text, graphics, logos, etc.) is KRMC's property and protected by copyright laws. You may not modify or distribute this content.

3.3 Acceptable Use

Use the website for lawful purposes only. Do not:

  • Transmit harmful or illegal content.

  • Disrupt the website or its servers.

  • Violate any laws or regulations.

  • Impersonate any person or entity.

  • Spam any input forms.

  • Submit false statements or slanderous remarks on review platforms. Impersonate any person or entity.

3.4 Disclaimers and Agreements

  • Online Intake Form: When completing the online intake form, you are required to provide accurate and truthful information. Additionally, you must read, understand, and accept the full Terms & Conditions of both the physical practice and the website. The links to these terms are provided on the form. Your personal information will be securely stored and used solely to ensure that you receive the best possible medical care.

  • Online Script Request Form: This service is exclusively available to existing patients of KRMC who have previously had a consultation with one of our general practitioners.

    • New prescriptions can only be requested for medications that have been previously prescribed to the patient during their initial consultation.

    • If a patient requests additional medications that are not on their medical record, a consultation with their GP will be necessary.

    • Submitting an online script request does not guarantee that the requested script will be approved, as it is subject to the discretion of the practitioner. If a follow-up consultation is required, the patient will be notified.

    • It is your responsibility to select the practitioner who has been treating you.

    • By submitting the online script request form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms, as well as the 48-hour waiting period and the associated fee of R170.00 owed to KRMC upon collection of the script, as stipulated on the online form.

3.5 Limitation of Liability

​KRMC shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or related to your use of the website, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

 

3.6 Modifications

​KRMC reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice. You are responsible for regularly reviewing these Terms. Your continued use of the website following the posting of modifications to these Terms will constitute your acceptance of such modifications.

 

3.7 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, alligned with the HPCSA & BFH.
